Photo Challenge #12 - Busy Reading

Image
I have a confession to make. I didn't take many photos this week. Well, a few of the sunset and a few of some trees, but really - I didn't think that they were nice enough to share or even to edit profusely and then share. I've been busy reading books and honestly, reading has been so much fun that taking my camera out wasn't high on my list of things to do. Even looking through older photos to find some to share seemed like too much time away from my books. Seeing I decided on weekly photo challenges, I feel a little bad about not actually taking any photos, yet reading has been so much fun that I don't feel guilty or bad about not taking my camera out. So, instead of sharing more photos and works of art that aren't actually mine (yet still very awesome, cool, amazing, share-worthy and all that), this week I'm posting several older photos. Because, yes, I did look through some of my older photos after deciding that posting no photos at all would be worse ...

Urban Art - Graffiti Collage

Image
Downloaded a trial version of the program Picture Collage Maker and played around with it today while waiting for dinner to be ready. (Yes, I cooked. Gasp! It happens every once in a while. Don't let it alarm you...) The program is easy to use, probably has the simplest Terms and Conditions I've ever read and playing around creating this collage was lots of fun. The (light grey) watermark in the centre of the image disappears once you buy the product. Seeing I quite enjoyed taking these photos and turning them into a collage, this was definitely not a waste of my time! When graffiti / street art / urban art is done in a nice way, I can appreciate it. The big, colourful letters for instance, those I think are 'nice'. When (what I see as) ugly looking tags are added or sprayed over the nice 'pretty' and 'artsy' stuff, that ruins the effect for me and turns art into ugly. In this case, I think it's a pity that the pretty art is covered by me...

Have a Rice Day!

Image
Spotted this message and image of a bowl of rice at a local skate park while out walking during the eclipse back in March. As the sun wasn't exactly shining brightly, the image came out quite dark and has a bit of a post-apocalyptic feel to it. Hope to go back on a sunnier day to take more photos of the funny, colourful and inspirational art on display. For now - I hope you Have a Rice Day and enjoy this photo! Have a Rice Day | Nimavenl
