Healing the world, one photo at a time

I enjoy taking photos, viewing the world from a photographer's point of view and sharing the beauty of the world with others. There is so much unrest, fighting, hatred and injustice going on in the world that I believe it is vital to 'take a moment' every once in a while to realise that the world is not all bad. In fact, it is extremely beautiful and diverse and can bring us so much pleasure and enjoyment!
"We are all dreamers creating the next world, the next beautiful world for ourselves and for our children" ~ Yoko Ono
I believe that if only more of us focused on sharing beauty and love instead of spreading hatred, discord and intolerance that the world could truly be a better and more amazing place. Peace is possible, if only we give it a chance! Having decided on the awesomeness of this wall, I wanted to share it with others. Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea - beauty, nature, functionality and light all in one! :-)

What do you think about the world as it is today? Are you happy with how humans treat each other? With how we treat animals, with how we treat our planet? Are you happy with what's going on in the world today? I know I'm not. Honestly I'm appalled and scared and horrified by how we treat each other, how we treat those we share this planet with, how we abuse the planet itself.

How do we right the wrongs? How do we fix the world? Will our children and grandchildren only inherit war and discord or will we really work to make the world a better place, for them and those who come after them? If we truly want to make the world a better place, to heal some of the wrongs and to give the generations coming after us a planet to love instead of a wasteland to merely exist in, then we need to change who we are, change how we think and change how we - all of humanity - treat each other and the world.

I am not be the most Zen person, the most peaceful person, the most tolerant or anything like that. I am a thinker and a dreamer and yes, I want to make the world a better place. I'm not the Dalai Lama, I'm not Yoko Ono, I'm not Mother Theresa, I'm not Nelson Mandela. I'm just me, flawed and imperfect and inspired by people so much greater than I am to do what I can to better myself and the world we all share.

"Remember, each one of us has the power to change the world. Just start thinking peace, and the message will spread quicker than you think."
~ Yoko Ono
