Winter Activities
As it gets colder outside and I am trying to find excuses to stay indoors more and more, I'm trying to come up with new ways to entertain myself away from the wind, the rain and the cold. I've rediscovered my 1000-piece "Starry Night" puzzle by Van Gogh (yay for getting past the point I was at last time!) and am trying to decide on other crafty projects for when the puzzle is finished.
I take photos, like puzzles & games and I enjoy writing, however that is about as creative as it gets for me. I'm perfectly content spending a whole weekend doing puzzles, playing games and reading a good book. I enjoy doing those things as much as others would enjoy a DIY project, the restoration of a car or building model trains and such.
I do love the feeling of being productive, however when the weekend comes around I'm happy to turn my brain off and enjoy Weekend Mode. No stress, no hassles, no customers yelling at me, no alarm clocks and no schedule to stick to. I get to do the things I like, and I get to do them when I want! Don't get me wrong - I get the shopping, the washing and the housework done as well. That's what I like about weekends - I get to make my own schedule and decide when I want to do something... or leave it for next weekend!
As far as future projects go, I'm thinking about knitting a Doctor Who scarf, making DIY picture frames, re-organising my filing system, writing a new short story and learning how to cook some Dutch favourites. I'm also planning for some photo trips - walks around my local and not-so local area with my cameras in tow. There's also this idea running through my head about doing a weekly progress / changing seasons photo journal of the tree behind my house. As the seasons change, it too will change and I'm thinking about documenting those changes. Could be fun, and if the tree thing takes I could do other locations as well, for instance on the way to work, the supermarket or the shopping mall. I expect all of these projects to keep me entertained over the winter and am strangely enough starting to look forward to finishing my puzzle! Let the fun begin already!
