The human race is capable of so much goodness and kindness, yet we are also capable of horrors and atrocities beyond even my wildest dreams (or should that be beyond even my scariest nightmares?) Will we ever learn to love and respect our fellow human beings just as they are? Will we ever understand that violence and destruction will only lead to more violence and destruction? Will we ever stop fighting and hating each other?
Today, I am fed up with the human race. We may be capable of so much goodness, kindness, love, friendship, respect, hope, compassion, understanding and balanced thinking, however we do not show that nearly enough and are much too busy fighting, raping, using, abusing and making war to remember to be kind. Not only am I fed up with the human race, I am also ashamed to be a member of a species that acts the way we do.
So - Today I choose to feel like an inhabitant of Planet Earth instead of a member of the human race. Today I choose to see the beauty in the world, to see the diverseness of life on this planet and to appreciate that I have eyes to see, ears to hear, a nose to smell and a brain to process all the information. Today, I choose nature instead of humanity, I choose beauty over hatred, wonder over war.
