This Week's Photo Challenge theme is: YELLOW !!!!!!!!! With a lot of exclamation marks. Because yellow and exclamation marks go together like sunshine and smiles. Or like yours truly and books. Or peanut-butter and jelly or... Well, you get my point! As I like the colour yellow and have had the idea of doing a yellow-themed Photo Challenge in my head for some time, the photos span several weeks. Some song lyrics and a few words by yours truly tie this blog post together. Enjoy the craziness, fun and excitement of yellow!

It's raining as I write this. Yes, really. The little yellow duck above isn't hanging out in a bathtub, however s/he's having a ball playing on my wet balcony today. Or just posing... The lyrics to Fools Garden's
Yellow Lemon Tree sound and feel quite appropriate today!
I'm sitting here in the boring room
It's just another rainy Sunday afternoon
I'm wasting my time
I got nothing to do
I'm hanging around
I'm waiting for you
While I'm not all that bored, it is a rainy Sunday afternoon. I may not be waiting for anyone and do have quite a bit to do - like catching up on a long list of emails and writing this blog post - but hey... They're song lyrics, not a lifelike description of reality! Which brings me to the Beatles' Yellow Submarine. Also appropriate, especially the sea of green. These next photos are of yellow flowers in a sea of green.
So we sailed on to the sun,
Till we found a sea of green,
And we lived beneath the waves,
In our yellow submarine.

Yellow is a colour that makes me happy. It reminds me of sunshine, spring and summer, of days spent enjoying the sun and cherishing the beautiful flowers all around. Yet seeing yellow things in daily life makes me happy too.
Wikipedia devoted an article to the colour yellow. Did you know that...
According to surveys in Europe and the United States, yellow is the color
people most often associate with amusement, optimism, gentleness, and
spontaneity, but also with duplicity, envy, jealousy, avarice, and, in the U.S.,
with cowardice. It plays an important role in Asian culture, particularly in
China, where it is seen as the color of happiness, glory, wisdom, harmony and culture.
One learns something new every day!

While I took photos of yellow earrings, a yellow towel, a striped yellow tea towel, two bananas and a yellow kitchen sponge, I decided not to include those photos this week. Instead, here are
some more yellow-themed nature photos and flower photos. Some of these I posted last week as well, others didn't get included last week but get to shine this week!
As the last of this week's Yellow photos are water-themed, Coldplay's
Yellow lyrics go well here.
I swam across
I jumped across for you
Oh what a thing to do
Cause you were all yellow
